Four Blue Flowers

It keeps running through my head to the tune of "Three Blind Mice"..."Four blue flowers, four blue flowers,Each one took hours, each one took hours,This week it's all that I've gotten done,It's not very much but gosh was it fun,Do you think the end will ever come?Four blue flowers."They are certainly beautiful shades of blue, aren't they? They just glow in the light and I imagine they will look even better in candle light when the whole thing is finished - in about a year! The curlicues at the top will be gold and the cup shape at the bottom will also be gold, but I haven't made a firm decision on exactly what sort of gold thread I'll use. Probably couched passing thread for the curlicues and either bright check or couched passing thread for the cup shape. Ideas? Let me know! This week I've stitched every evening but it just wasn't enough time with my needle. For the first time in my life my work is getting in the way of my work! I love my job teaching music to children, but I need more stitching time! Aarrgghh! I need 30 hour days! This weekend is going to be a full on stitching weekend so I'll have more to show you on all three projects. Watch for an update on Sunday. Now, shall we try the song together?1,2,ready sing..."Four blue flowers, four blue flowers,Each one took hours, each one took hours,This week it's all that I've gotten done,It's not very much but gosh was it fun,Do you think the end will ever come?Four blue flowers."
